Bel Air Fresh…My most recent thrift find is an unisex Le Coq Sprotif T-shirt! This particular find reignited a moment in time when flashy prints, European sport brands and Denim overalls were the items to have in your closet. I was introduced to this brand via Will Smith. As I surfed through a sea of throw back photos of Will Smith I began to realize that he was a trendsetter on a music and fashion level. Although in the 80’s and 90’s he had been deemed the “commercial rapper” in the Hip-Hop community. Despite the claims that he promoted water down hip hop, Will Smith in my book is considered a style icon and a true businessman who helped pave the way for singers and rappers trying to transition from one art form to another.
History of The Brand:
Le Coq Sportif is a French sporting equipment company that was created in the late 19 century by Emile Camuset. The founder had a strong interest in football, track and field and cycling. Le Coq Sportif means the ‘sporty rooster’ and the rooster is the national symbol in France.
